Village Garden History

The garden is situated on a piece of land gifted to the village by the 6th Earl of Harewood.  For many years the site was used by a local resident William John Bradley “Ginner” as a garden and allotment.  On his death in 1998 the land became neglected and the Parish Council initiated the creation of a village garden.  The Garden, with the assistance of gifts from organisations and iindividuals, has become a fine village amenity, including space to sit and a young persons play area.
